Tribunals Ontario Welcomes "Justice Accelerated Strategy"

The new digital case-management system.

1 min read

The Landlord and Tenant Board is set to have a new digital case-management system come summer, in a recent announcement on March 11th. The multi-year $28.5 million plan will further enhance access to the justice system for landlords and tenants across the province.

The new system is part of the provincial government's adaptation to a digital-first approach— a response to the growing need caused by the current pandemic.

Tribunals Ontario Executive Chair Sean Weir stated, "The matters heard at tribunals touch Ontarians' lives in many ways. This new case management system will help advance our commitment to fair and accessible dispute resolution in a more user-friendly manner. As demands on Ontario's tribunals continue to evolve and escalate, this ambitious innovation will help reduce wait times and address the current case backlogs for the thousands of people who rely on tribunals to resolve their disputes each year."

The Justice Accelerated Strategy is apart of the Ontario Onwards Action Plan, a people-focused provincial-wide agenda.
