Tribunals Ontario Portal Now Offering New Features for Users
2 min read
Tribunals Ontario has made some intuitive updates to its user portal, including a new self-scheduling feature and the addition of multiple Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) forms. As of early December 2022, individuals can now schedule hearing dates online, as well as submit the following additional forms:
L3: Application to End a Tenancy – Tenant Gave Notice or Agreed to Terminate the Tenancy
L4: Application to End a Tenancy and Evict a Tenant – Tenant Failed to Meet Conditions of a Settlement or Order
L10: Application to Collect Money a Former Tenant Owes
C1: Application to End the Occupancy and Evict the Member based on Non-Payment of Regular Monthly Housing Charges and to Collect the Housing Charges that the Co-op Member Owes
Following the update, Sean Weir, Executive Chair of Tribunals Ontario, stated, “With these new enhancements to the Tribunals Ontario Portal, we are providing an end-to-end digital experience for our users, from filing an application to attending the hearing, all online. The portal is a central part of our digital-first strategy and is a significant milestone in our ongoing modernization journey.”
Although Tribunals Ontario, like many organizations, aims to transition most of its services online, landlords and tenants can still submit paper applications or mediation requests via mail. Further enhancements to the portal are set to come within the next few months to continue to provide timely, efficient and accessible information and dispute services to Ontario landlords and tenants.
