Tribunals Ontario Launches “Tribunals Ontario Portal”

Transforming how users engage with tribunals.

2 min read

Tribunals Ontario has recently launched the Tribunals Ontario Portal—a new case management system that will transform the way tenants and landlords engage with tribunals. The Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) is the first to implement the new system to streamline the dispute resolution process. Users will now submit their applications online, which will then be filed, processed, and scheduled for resolution.

The Tribunals Ontario Portal will allow landlords and tenants to:

  • Submit most commonly used L1, L2, T2 and T6 LTB applications with simple and easy to use online forms

  • Pay application fees on the portal

  • Upload evidence directly to the portal

  • View and exchange documents with other parties

  • View their file and status of their L1, L2, T2 and T6 application(s) online

  • Receive decisions electronically

  • Use the dispute resolution tool to communicate with other parties or ask for assistance from an LTB Dispute Resolution Officer to help reach an agreement.

Harry Gousopoulos, Executive Director of Tribunals Ontario, stated, “The Tribunals Ontario Portal will help reduce delays and enhance the user experience by giving users the ability to file and manage their cases online seamlessly. It will also encourage resolution of disputes before the hearing, with new features that give parties the ability to connect directly and come to a resolution.”

Over several years, the portal is set to expand to multiple tribunals across the province to provide accessible services and information for all.
