Preparing Your Rental for the Holiday Season
How tenants and property managers can effectively handle issues that may arise.

As the holidays are approaching, tenants and property management companies must be ahead of what may come during the busy season. With tenants travelling for extended periods and the cold weather slowly creeping up, both parties must be fully aware of handling any issues that may come up effectively. We’ve put together some tips and tricks that may make this holiday season go by smoothly.
Ensure your property manager is aware if you are going out of town. This is to reduce any confusion if your landlord or the building management is attempting to contact you directly about a situation that pertains to you.
Make sure you mark the days when the property management office might be closed. If you have an issue that needs immediate attention, ask your managers before those days for an alternative in resolving your issue while their main offices are closed.
Ask your management about specific guidelines about gatherings and other holiday-related activities.
Lock up and triple-check all appliances, water faucets and other equipment in the home before leaving for a trip. This is to avoid any dangerous events like fires, flooding, etc. to occur in your home while you are away for an extended period.
For more information on other tips you can implement in your home to be prepared and safe, reach out to your property managers in advance so you can be ready for the busy holiday season!
